Our Story...
The journey of Emissary Way began in the most unexpected way. Through a moment of childlike wonder and divine insight. Sonya’s youngest son, Ephraim, was not yet two years old when he came running into the room as she watched Enjoying Everyday Life with Joyce Meyer. His eyes lit up, and with pure conviction he pointed at the screen and exclaimed, “That’s Mommy!”

Surprised by his words, Sonya gently corrected him, noting the woman on the screen looked nothing like her but he was undeterred. Each time the program aired, Ephraim repeated the same declaration with unshakable certainty.

Perplexed yet moved, Sonya began to pray and seek understanding. Slowly, a beautiful revelation unfolded. Her son was not confused by appearances; he was discerning something deeper. He recognized in that teacher the same spirit, passion, and purpose that lived in his mother. What seemed like a child’s innocent statement was, in truth, a prophetic glimpse into her calling.

That moment became a seed of purpose. As the years unfolded, Sonya began to see more clearly the gifts God had placed in her with the capacity to teach, inspire, and build bridges among people of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Nearly a decade later, Emissary Way was launched. What began as a whispered affirmation through a child’s eyes has blossomed into a life-giving mission. Today, through her writing and teaching, Sonya carries forward that same spirit of faith and transformation to help others discover purpose, connection, and the power of God in everyday life.
