Our Story...
The story of Emissary Way began with an unexpected moment of insight from Sonya’s youngest son, Ephraim. Just shy of two years old, he ran into the room as Sonya watched Enjoying Everyday Life with Joyce Meyer, pointed at the screen, and exclaimed, “That’s Mommy!”
Perplexed—especially given the visible differences between herself and the woman on screen—Sonya gently corrected him. But Ephraim remained insistent, repeating the phrase every time the show aired. Curious and prayerful, Sonya sought understanding behind his words.
Eventually, she received a revelation: her son recognized in that teacher the same spirit, passion, and purpose he saw in his mother. His innocent declaration was a seed, foreshadowing Sonya’s calling to teach, inspire, and build bridges across communities.
Over time, Sonya came to see the deep resonance between her own gifts and the work that had captivated her son. Embracing this purpose, she founded Emissary Way nearly a decade later—an initiative that now expands her reach as an author and teacher, devoted to fostering connection and transformation through faith and lived experience.
